China Mobile Wins TD-SCDMA "188" Numbers
Sina.com

to build up subscriber interest. The number was allocated by the
Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for commercial use.
Until now, China Mobile has been using the 157 prefix for its 3G
trial in eight cities, and it will likely begin releasing these
numbers nationwide after it releases TD-SCDMA numbers in Qingdao
and Baoding on July 11th. |

Following summary from Memory of

Guanhua: Former Minister of Science and Technology of the
People's Republic of China
We appreciate all the colleagues¡¯ hard work in TD-SCDMA career.
Without the cooperation with each department TD-SCDMA could not
be successful. However, TD-SCDMA can hardly succeed if it is only
worked by telecom people. We have to form a national strategy and
mechanism to jointly promote this cause of important national interest.
Song Zhiyuan: Director of MIIT Communications
Science and Technology Commission
There is a long way to go for the TD-SCDMA. We still have to pay
attention to the technical directions in relation to TD-SCDMA.
We have to fully execute the TD deployment as demanded by the
government, with the resolve as firm as we fight the earthquake.
Zhu Gaofeng: Chairman of China Communications
Standard Association
I think TD-SCDMA has its symbolic significance far beyond the
telecommunications industry. We hope to see a greater success
of TD-SCDMA.
Lang Zhizheng: Counselor of the State
Council
TD-SCDMA industry has yet to establish a nationwide system in
China to push for its success. We should work together. We appreciate
all TD-SCDMA veterans and leaders who have made contributions
to TD-SCDMA industry.
Zhou Huan: Chairman of TD-SCDMA Forum
It has been 10 years for TD-SCDMA, now it has become a macro-development
industry that bears national interest. To celebrate the 10th anniversary
of this international standard, TD-SCDMA Forum and TD-SCDMA Alliance
invited all related former leadership, senior experts and scientific
researchers to celebrate and recall this difficult process. We
also are confident about a brighter future of TD-SCDMA.
