The 7th TD-SCDMA Forum Board Meeting Was Held Recently

On Dec. 22, 2005, the 7th TD-SCDMA Forum presidium meeting
and board meeting was held successfully. Representatives from
14 board members of the Forum, namely China Mobile, China Telecom,
China Netcom, China Unicom, China Tietong, Datang, Huawei, Siemens,
Nortel Networks, Qualcomm, Shanghai Bell Alcatel, UT Starcom,
TCL attended this meeting.
The presidium meeting was presided by Mr. Tang Ruan, who is authorized
by Mr. Zhou Huan, president of the Forum. And the board meeting
was presided by Mr. Wang Bowei From UT Starcom, the rotating chairman
of the board.
Firstly, Dr. Jing Wang, secretary general of the TD-SCDMA Forum
reported to the presidium and the board work of the Forum in
year 2005. The work of the Forum was highly appreciated by the
presidium and the board. The 2005 TD-SCDMA international Summit
is considered to be very successful. Besides, the Forum organized
many activities in 2005. These activities greatly facilitated
the promotion of TD-SCDMA in Chinese domestic as well as the
overseas market. In addition, The Forum is in good financial
status and the daily management of the Forum has also been greatly
improved.
Meanwhile, the presidium and the board members also discussed
the plan of the Forum in 2006. The focus of the Forum in the
coming year is how to successfully commercialize TD-SCDMA, in
detail, is to successfully launch the TD-SCDMA commercial deployment
in China. The Forum will continue to be a neutral and public
platform and strive to better bridge different parties in the
TD-SCDMA industry chain as well as to trace the follow-up development
and evolution in TD-SCDMA. These will further facilitate the
TD-SCDMA commercialization, internationalization and futurization.
In year 2006, the Forum will pay more attention on the TD-SCDMA
international promotion. The key task of the Forum in 2006 will
still be the TD-SCDMA international Summit. The success of this
summit will greatly benefit other relevant promotion activities.
In addition, the Forum will joint its efforts with TDIA as well
as other relevant organizations to promote the balanced development
of TD-SCDMA industry.
During the meeting, Mr. Tang Ruan, vice president of the Forum
granted TCL the Forum board member certificate.
We believe in the coming year, the Forum will become stronger
with the matureness of the TD-SCDMA industry. The Forum will
continue to work with its member organizations to further facilitate
the TD-SCDMA productization, commercialization, internationalization
and futurization.
