On Aug. 5, 2005, a VIP dinner party was held by the TD-SCDMA
Forum. More than 30 representatives from board and senior members
of the Forum attended this event, including Mr. Zhang Xinsheng,
Director General of Science and Technology Department of MII,
Mr. Ye Lin, Director of High and New Technology Development
Division, Mr. Ni Xiaolong, Deputy Director of High and New Technology
Development Division.
The dinner party was presided by Dr. Jing Wang ¨C Secretary
General of TD-SCDMA Forum. He explained to the attendees the
objective of this event, which is to enable a social platform
for communications between members of the forum and the government.
In such activities, vendors can discuss with the government
latest development of the TD-SCDMA industry, raise their questions
and get necessary support and instructions. Besides, the government
can also take this opportunity to understand the needs and wants
of the domestic and overseas enterprises. This is of great significance
to the development of the whole industry.
Director General Zhang delivered a speech in the dinner party.
He encouraged the attendees to express openly their viewpoints
in the dinner party. And he expressed his own understanding
about the current status of TD-SCDMA industry. Zhang also showed
his great gratitude to people dedicated to the TD industry.
Vendors also delivered speeches after Zhang¡¯s speech, including
domestic and overseas vendors, director members, cofounders
as well as new members of the Forum. They shared their viewpoints
feelings, and experience in the TD-SCDMA R&D and industrialization.
They believe that TD-SCDMA can not be so successful without
the government¡¯s support and the efforts of all domestic and
overseas enterprises.
In today¡¯s TD-SCDMA supply chain, competition and cooperation
coexist between different vendors. The vendors presented expressed
their willingness to cooperate in the final stage of TD-SCDMA
commercialization and said they would strive to win a larger
share in the market.
Zhang concluded their speeches and hoped the vendors to collaborate
to promote TD-SCDMA.
All the attendees highly appreciated their gratitude to the
TD-SCDMA Forum, who creates this communication opportunity.
Secretary General Wang said the Forum would host various activities
for the forum members in the future and further promote the
development of TD-SCDMA.
