Profile of TD-SCDMA Forum

TD-SCDMA Forum was established in the Great Hall of the People on December 12, 2000. Among the Co-founders of the Forum were China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, Datang, Huawei, Motorola, Nortel and Siemens.

Honorable chairman of the Forum is Mr. Zhou Guangzhao, former vice president of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. President of the Forum is Mr. Zhou Huan, former president of Datang Telecom Group and head of China Academy of Telecom Research (CATR).

With the support from Chinese government, our members, international telecom organizations and research institutions, TD-SCDMA Forum is the government endorsed organizer of the yearly China TD-SCDMA International Summit, the highest level TD-SCDMA conference globally; The Forum was admitted by the 3GPP as its MRP (Market Representative Partner) in 2005. The Forum also signed partnership agreements with major international telecom organizations, such as GSMA and CDG. The Forum now has over 300 members from more than 30 countries covering all sectors of the value chain, namely standardization agents, operators, vendors, content providers, financial and investment organizations, research institutions, etc.

TD-SCDMA Forum Products

I. Information and research services TD-SCDMA Forum will monitor industry trend and conduct researches on important issues, with the goal to help our members in reaching right investment strategy and efficiently allocating their resources.

1. TD-SCDMA Forum News Daily, a bilingual electronic news information product. We pick the most important news happened each day, and give our comments/research selectively.
   
   
   
2. TD-SCDMA Forum Value-chain Updates Monthly, provides research and analysis on the latest update of the TD-SCDMA industry for professionals who follow the Chinese telecom industry. We try to smoothen the development of the value chain and help capital to invest wisely through asertaining progresses, difficulties, bottlenecks and evolutions in the industry.
   
3. TD-SCDMA Forum Quarterly, a collection of latest TD-SCDMA technical and commercial developments and interviews to TD-SCDMA insiders. It serves as a platform for government, carriers, industry value chain, research institutions and investment organizations to exchange views and opinions.
   
4. Research reports on specific topics is a professional and fact-based analysis product on important subjects as reference for decision makers.
   
5. Tailored reports: the Forum will leverage it resources to offer its members consultations on professional analysis, feasibility study, and solutions.

The TD-SCDMA Forum also provides TD-SCDMA training and technical documents, including training materials, publications of conferences and exhibitions, PPT presentations, and other publishable technical documentation provided by member organizations. II. Conferences, trainings and salons TD-SCDMA Forum bridges its members with the government, operators, investors and research institutions etc. to create win-win for all parties.

1. TD-SCDMA International Summit Supported by the Chinese regulators, TD-SCDMA International Summit is China's highest-profiled global summit focused on TD-SCDMA and 3G industry. TD Forum is endorsed by Chinese government as the official organizer of this summit.
   
   
   
2. Different seminars TD-SCDMA Forum organizes or co-organizes specialized technical seminars to showcase latest industry developments, to tackle technical difficulties, and to seek solutions.
   
   
   
3. Trainings on TD-SCDMA and other related topics TD-SCDMA Forum hosts trainings at different levels jointly with regulators, R&D institutes and member organizations on TD-SCDMA related topics.
   
   
4. Salons and other informal communications TD-SCDMA Forum hosts VIP Dinner Party, quarterly at least, to which executives from senior or board members are invited to meet with representatives from telecom regulators and carriers in a casual manner. The forum also hold more regular salons and informal communications for board and senior members, e.g. TD Forum Friday Night Salon, TD Forum Chang'an Club Weekly Salon etc. Informal environment sometimes enables better communication and helps to build mutual trust and understanding.

Popularize and promote TD-SCDMA internationalization and evolution TD-SCDMA Forum seeks to promote TD-SCDMA and member interest beyond China market by communicating and partnering with international organizations and foreign enterprises. The Forum enhances the cooperation with other telecom associations to facilitate convergence and evolution of various technologies.
