The China-Japan 3G development & operation seminar held by TD-SCDMA
forum, TDIA, CQUPT and Japanese YRP promotion commission on July 3th
of 2004 in Chongqing. The Japanese delegation includes NTT DoCoMo, KDDI,
NEC, Panasonic, Sanyo, Mitsubishi and Fujitsu. The Chinese counterpart
includes China Unicom, China telecom, China mobile, Datang, Huawei,
ZTE, Putian, Xi¡¯an Hai tian, Commit, T3G, Spreadtrum, Academy of Telecommunication
Research of MII, Tsinghua university and CQUPT.
During this seminar, two sides discussed the development of Chinese
mobile telecoms, Japanese 3G development strategy, the analysis of Japanese
3G operation, the successful experience of Japanese 3G development,
Chinese operational requirement for 3G, the technological characteristics
and advantages of TD-SCDMA, the layout of TD-SCDMA industry chain and
the latest development of TD-SCDMA.

All the attendees reckoned the communication between China and Japan
on the 3G R&D and operation plays an important role in the bilateral
cultural and economic cooperation. This seminar is a good beginning
and we hope China and Japan can take turns to hold this kind of seminar
regularly to promote bilateral industry cooperation.
Besides, Japanese delegation has visited and thought highly of the R&D
status of CQUPT on handset.
